At the symposium commemorating the 15th anniversary of Busan's designation as a financial hub, Michael Mainelli, the Lord Mayor Of London at City of London Corporation, delivered a keynote speech via video. He stated, "Busan serves as a gateway to Asia and a hub for innovation, science and technology, and maritime activities, making it a key city for the connections needed for London's prosperity." He also observed, "Over the past 15 years, Busan has undergone significant changes in its cityscape with the construction of international finance center infrastructure," and noted, "Financial institutions in Busan are actively addressing challenges facing our planet, such as green finance." He continued, "Busan has consistently been selected among the top 40 cities in the Global Financial Centres Index," and encouraged them, "Be proud of your past achievements and have more confidence in your future."
